How to shop at Publix

Publix is a favorite grocery store for many southerners.  Always begin with the weekly store ad.  Our store ad runs Wed. - Tues.

Next, match coupons with sale items that you would use.  (Don't buy something that you would not use just because it is almost free--unless you plan to give it away)

 

Be sure to check the web site and the front of the store for more coupons.  A store coupon can be used with a manufacturers coupon for extra savings.

 

I try to make 2 trips to Publix weekly.  One of those trips is to buy a few things from the sale ad combined with my coupons, but also to scan the store for unpublished bargains.  I will go to the clearance area (usually at the front somewhere) and see if there is anything I could use.  Many times I will see things that are marked way down and I know there has to be a coupon for it, so I will wait about buying it and either come back in the store asap with the coupon in hand--(if it's gone, then so be it.)  I have gotten all my hair coloring this way and not paid hardly anything.

Be sure to keep your eyes alert to the coupons that can be found up and down the aisles.

 

Today there is ceasar dog food on sale and I plan to search the internet for coupon availibility before I go.  The price is a BOGO so if I have coupons I will get them cheap!  ---Found one---Buy 3 get one free  http://www.cesar.com/default.aspx

The internet limits you to 2 coupon printings per computer.  These extreme couponers are not for me.  I don't buy or steal stacks of coupons like these people must do.  How else can they have hundreds for the same item---?   rediculous.  If you buy only what you need for a month a few weeks, you will find that the sales and coupons float back around again, so you always have access as you need the items (almost always).

THE KEY IS TO BE PATIENT UNTIL PUBLX PUTS THE ITEM ON SALE.  Don't run out of an item ---buy it when it is on sale even if you don't need it right then.
